The Penguins have reached that time of the season at which every point is precious.
Mostly because each of those points could help to determine whether they will qualify for the playoffs and, if so, where they will be seeded.
Points earned in March, however, don’t count for any more than the ones that were available months earlier, and the Penguins have squandered more than a few along the way.
Of course, that only compounds the value of the ones they’ll try to get in the remaining four weeks of the season.
