No, seriously, Capitals center Jay Beagle really does love Mario Kart

WASHINGTON — Capitals center Jay Beagle doesn’t settle all disagreements with a game of Mario Kart.

But he may soon start.

“I might never lose an argument,” Beagle said.

If reading Jay Beagle and Mario Kart in the same sentence sounds familiar, it’s because it should. Especially given we’re about to get Capitals-Penguins for a third consecutive year in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Turns out Beagle is a fan of the game he name-checked during a fun pair of morning skates last spring. The whole issue started with Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen’s hit on Sidney Crosby, which knocked the Penguins captain out of Game 3.
