No big screen for Penguins-Rangers series, CEO Morehouse says

The Penguins are back in the playoffs, but for at least the first round games won’t be shown on a large projection screen as in years past, team president and CEO David Morehouse told reporters this afternoon.

Morehouse said the big screen could return for later rounds.

A year ago, the Penguins announced they would not host watch parties because of construction at the former Civic Arena site, but the City of Pittsburgh stepped in and found alternate venues — such as Market Square and PPG Place — for the free, family-friendly gatherings.
