Pittsburghers may be most focused on the Penguins winning the 2017 Stanley Cup, but when the Pens aren’t playing, they enjoy a little bit of basketball too.
According to research provided by WTAE-TV, Pittsburgh’s local ABC affiliate which carries the 2017 NBA Finals, Games 1 and 2 between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers were the highest-rated programs on the nights they aired — Thursday, June 1, and Sunday, June 4.
The overall ratings were up from the first two games of last year’s NBA Finals, which also featured both the Cavaliers and Warriors. However, WTAE did report that Pittsburgh viewership from the 25-54 demographic was about half of the national average.
