Murray starts in goal against Edmonton Oilers

Performance will always be the biggest dictator. Penguins coach Mike Sullivan reiterated that stance on the team’s recent road trip and again after Monday’s practice.

He put his words into action Tuesday, as goaltender Matt Murray was the first to leave the ice at PPG Paints Arena following the Penguins’ morning skate, an indication he’ll start tonight against the Edmonton Oilers.

Murray, who made his 2016-17 debut last Wednesday at Anaheim, will have started three of the Penguins’ past four games.

On the road trip, Murray stopped 32 of 33 shots against the Ducks and all 32 he faced against the San Jose Sharks.
