Morehouse confirms Penguins no longer for sale

Penguins president and CEO David Morehouse this morning confirmed on KDKA-FM that the team is no longer for sale.

Morehouse, appearing on KDKA News Radio 1020, said, ““We did look at a bunch of different things; one of them included the outright sale of the franchise. We’re not looking at that right now."

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette columnist Joe Starkey wrote in today’s newspaper that the Penguins were no longer for sale, and Morehouse’s comments are the first public, on-the-record confirmation of that.

Co-owners Mario Lemieux and Ron Burkle hired Morgan Stanley on June 3, 2015 to facilitate a possible sale.
