The Steelers defense has played a high percentage of man-to-man coverage. They also have done a lot of blitzing in certain matchups, most recently heavily blitzing Jalen Hurts. They also have given up far too many big plays, having surrendered an alarming 43 plays of 20 or more yards.
This defense isn’t taking the ball away enough, and has produced just eight sacks since their Week 1 seven-sack outburst. The Steelers defense is giving up far too many big plays and not making up for it with splash plays of their own.
That might be changing.
