Walk-through metal detectors have been installed at Consol Energy Center, the Penguins announced today.
The move was mandated by the NHL for all league arenas during the coming season.
The Penguins will play their first preseason home game Tuesday against Carolina.
The NHL policy of searching all permitted bags remains in effect.
