Matt Murray Named an AHL Second-Team All-Star

Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Matt Murray, who played much of the first half of the season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, was named an AHL Second-Team All-Star.

Murray’s spot on the AHL’s Second All-Star Team was earned by his 20-9-1-0 record in net for WBS this season, in addition to his four shutouts, 2.10 goals-against average and league-leading .931 save percentage in 31 games.

Last year, the native of Thunder Bay, Ont. was named to the AHL’s All-Rookie Team and First All-Star Team for the 2014-15 season, in addition to winning the league Rookie of the Year and Goaltender of the Year awards.
