In Matt Murray’s three games since returning from a concussion, the Penguins have certainly given him plenty of work to do.
Murray has faced an average of 39.7 shots per game in those three contests (as well as 30 in Casey DeSmith’s start against Montreal last week), including 45 in their 5-4 overtime win Sunday against the Flyers.
But even if that number is a bit eye-popping, neither Sullivan nor Murray was overly concerned with it, in a vacuum.
“I think shots on goal can be very skewed in terms of how the game actually goes,” Murray said.
