CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Matt Murray has a shutout and a 43-save gem on his 2017-18 ledger, but they may not be the games the Penguins goaltender holds in highest regard.
Sure, winning is fun. It always will be, and that never gets old. But as Murray’s still relatively nascent career evolves, he’s starting to appreciate more what it’s like to win when you don’t exactly have your best stuff.
“Making a save at the right time and helping your team get wins … that’s what’s most important,” Murray said. “I think that’s an acquired skill.”
