NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Matt Cullen nailed it.
At a highly optional morning skate before Game 6 of the Stanley Cup final on Sunday, only a couple players who would play against Nashville were on the ice at Bridgestone Arena: Cullen, Matt Murray and Swedish wingers Carl Hagelin and Patric Hornqvist.
“The Swedes are ready,” Cullen cracked.
It turned out to be more than a joke, however. It turned out to be prophetic on Cullen’s part, as Hagelin and Hornqvist scored the only two goals in the Penguins’ 2-0 win.
Hornqvist scored a Hornqvist-type goal, smacking the puck off of Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne and Hagelin adding an empty-netter late.
