Mark Recchi will try to keep tabs on the Penguins this weekend, but it’s understandable he might be a bit distracted.
Recchi, a Penguins assistant coach, will not travel with the team to Washington and Nashville. He’s headed to Toronto to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday night.
“It’s pretty surreal, still,” Recchi said Thursday. “I’m sure it’ll sink in Monday when we’re getting set to get up there. I can’t wait. It’s something I never could’ve imagined when I started playing, and this is obviously the icing on the cake.”
