LAS VEGAS — Marc-Andre Fleury had company late Wednesday night.
The Vegas Golden Knights invited late Humboldt Broncos coach/GM Darcy Haugan’s wife Christina and their two sons, Carson and Jackson, to watch Game 3 of the Western Conference final.
After the game, which the Golden Knights won, Fleury had them try on his helmet, fetched them drinks, signed their jerseys, posed for pictures and chatted with the two young boys about the Stanley Cup playoffs.
It was a fitting end to a spectacular evening for Fleury, one where he stopped 33 of 35 shots to lift Vegas to a 4-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets at T-Mobile Arena, a win that has the storybook Golden Knights two wins away from the Stanley Cup final.
