LAS VEGAS — Abby Nolder remembers the moment like it was yesterday. The 33-year-old Beaver County native, now living in the Southern Highlands area of Las Vegas, was walking to her car following a night of work at an area hotel and saw a familiar sight: former Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury walking toward her, about 50 yards away.
That was June 2017, around 11 o’clock the night of the NHL expansion draft, and Fleury was returning home after a long day of promotional appearances and photo shoots for his new team, the Vegas Golden Knights. Nevertheless, Nolder, a Penguins fan at heart, struck up a conversation, and Fleury was plenty approachable.
