Penguins center Evgeni Malkin went through Monday’s practice at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry without issue as he recovers from a lower-body injury that has sidelined him for the past seven games.
Coach Mike Sullivan said afterward that Malkin would be considered a game-time decision for Tuesday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks at PPG Paints Arena.
“Geno felt really strong,” Sullivan said. “We’ll see how he responds.”
Malkin worked on a line at practice with Scott Wilson to his left and Patric Hornqvist to his right.
It appeared as though Malkin would return Saturday at Arizona, but at this point in the season, there’s little reason to push things.
