CRANBERRY, Pa. -- The Penguins have recalled forward Adam Johnson from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Jim Rutherford announced on Wednesday.
To clear a roster spot for Johnson, Alex Galchenyuk has been placed on injured reserve. Galchenyuk is still dealing with a nagging lower-body injury and is day-to-day. Galchenyuk is expected to be out at least seven days as a result of being placed on injured reserve.
Johnson was the only forward recalled from Wilkes-Barre, which could be an indication that Patric Hornqvist, who is also day-to-day with a lower-body injury, will be ready to play on Thursday.
