WASHINGTON —There were storylines galore in the Penguins’ 4-1 loss Sunday, but all of them felt secondary to Tom Wilson’s crushing hit on Brian Dumoulin.
It was a hit that could alter the series, given the Penguins’ alarming lack of depth on defense.
It also was a hit that should get Wilson suspended.
Given his predatory history, Wilson does not deserve the benefit of the doubt when he says, “I’m at no point trying to target the head at all.”
And does he not think the rest of us see replays when he claims only to have “grazed” Dumoulin’s head?
