Admittedly, the first time Jim Rutherford went on one of his candid rants, we thought, “hey cool it’s refreshing to hear honestly.”
After years of the tightly wrapped Ray Shero, we weren’t use to hearing a GM be so candid.
And then, we realized how poor of a decision, and how stupid being candid is.
It is a product of being passionate, which can be a good thing. But there is a fine line between being passionate, and speaking your mind and just not realizing what the fuck you are bringing upon yourself. Rutherford has done and said some really weird shit, but that pales in comparsion to him basically throwing his coach, Mike Johnston, the man he hired, under the bus.
