Tristan Jarry was named the NHL's Second Star of the Month for December, the NHL announced on Thursday afternoon.
Jarry appeared in nine games in December, posting an 8-1 record (including three shutouts), a 1.54 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage.
During the month, Jarry set the Penguins' new franchise shutout streak record by a goaltender, going 177:15 without allowing a goal. He became the second Penguins goaltender in franchise history to record three shutouts in four appearances — Marc-Andre Fleury did so in 2014.
Jarry's December brings his season totals to a 1.
