The Penguins lost, 5-2, in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinal Monday at PPG Paints Arena. The series is now tied, 3-3. Here are some initial impressions from the defeat.
It was over when: Washington’s Andre Burakovsky scored to make it 2-0 early in the second period after he stole the puck from defenseman Ron Hainsey along the boards near the Penguins blue line. The steal created a 2-on-1 rush, and Burakovsky got enough wood on the puck to slip it past goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. The Penguins never came close to getting back in the game after that.
