The Penguins lost to the Predators, 5-1, in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup final Saturday at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. They now lead the championship series, two games to one. Here are some initial thoughts from the defeat.
It was over when: Nashville winger and former Penguin James Neal tapped the puck past goalie Matt Murray off an awkward bounce to cap a second-period rampage of three goals for the Predators. The Bridgestone Arena crowd was euphoric, and it was pretty clear at that point that this wouldn’t be the Penguins’ night.
