The Penguins got a 5-1 win against the Flyers in Game 3 of their Stanley Cup playoffs first-round series Sunday in Philadelphia. The Penguins now lead the series, 2-1. Here are some initial thoughts on the victory.
It was over when: Evgeni Malkin and Brian Dumoulin scored within five seconds of each other to make the score 4-0 early in the second period. Dumoulin’s not much of a goal scorer, so when even he got on the board, you pretty much knew it wasn’t going to be the Flyers’ day.
Heroes: Matt Murray was the Penguins’ rock in the first period.
