The Penguins lost, 5-1, in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference final against the Ottawa Senators Wednesday at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. Here are some initial thoughts from the defeat.
It was over when: Ottawa’s Zach Smith scored late in the first period to make the score 4-0 on a wrap-around shot as goalie Marc-Andre Fleury couldn’t go post to post fast enough to make the stop. Fleury was benched at that point, and even with two full periods left to play, the game felt over at that point.
Heroes: Craig Anderson was great, again.
