When Matt Hunwick signed a three-year, $6.75 million contract with the Penguins over the summer, the hope was that he’d make up for no longer having Trevor Daley and Ron Hainsey, veteran defensemen who mostly fit the team’s system.

Hunwick has been a healthy scratch for significant stretches this season and has struggled to find even the smallest shred of comfort with his new team.
On Saturday, speaking before a game with the Montreal Canadiens at PPG Paints Arena, Hunwick had some harsh words for his performance thus far and talked about the fit he’s failed to find in Pittsburgh.
