Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto and Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald have declared Thursday "Black and Gold Day" to mark the day the Penguins will battle the Ottawa Senators in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference final at PPG Paints Arena.

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Penguins are making a return to the Stanley Cup Championships for the 2016-17 season with a 50-21-11 record and 111 points scored in the regular season; the team soundly defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Washington Capitals, and are now facing a Game 7 in the Eastern Conference final against the Ottawa Senators; and
WHEREAS, the Penguins and Senators are tied 3-3 in the series and will face each other for the final time this season at PPG Paints Arena on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 8 p.
