The Pittsburgh Penguins selected four forwards on the second day of the 2015 NHL Draft.
After drafting Daniel Sprong earlier in the day with their second-round selection, the Penguins took a trio of forwards including fifth-round pick Dominik Simon (137th overall), sixth-round selection Frederik Tiffels (167th overall) and seventh-rounder Nikita Pavlychev (197th overall).
Sprong and Pavlychev both played amateur hockey for the Wilkes-Barre Knights, located in the same town as the Penguins’ American Hockey League affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
In the fifth round, Pittsburgh added to its forward depth by selecting 20-year-old Dominik Simon of the HC Plzen of the Czech Extraliga, the team that is owned by former Penguin Martin Straka.
