Former Penguins assistant coach Tony Granato announced that he has been diagnosed with a form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Granato says he will begin treatment this week.
He announced the news of the diagnosis on social media last night, saying that he wanted to reach out to everyone individually, but sharing it in that manner felt like the best way.

Granato says he’ll be taking a temporary leave of absence from the NBC Sports Chicago and Blackhawks broadcasts and the NHL Network broadcasts.
