WASHINGTON — If the Vegas Golden Knights are able to pen the final chapter to their Cinderella story and they wind up winning the Stanley Cup, it’ll likely be Las Vegas native and former Penguin Deryk Engelland who raises the silver chalice first.
On the night of the NHL expansion draft last June, it was Marc-Andre Fleury who drew the biggest cheer, the Cup-winner netminder and should-be Hall of Famer serving as the face of the franchise and instantly giving the Golden Knights credibility.
However, there’s a third Vegas player who used to call Pittsburgh home whose voice has been every bit as important for the first-year franchise: James Neal.
