The pens have finally fired Ron Hextall, and I couldn’t be happier. When I think about the moves made by Hextall over the last few years to try to give us a shot at another cup, my mind draws a blank. I mean, in my mind he didn’t have a care in the world when it came to this organization, and it seemed like he was perfectly content with wasting Crosby and Malkin’s last few years in the league. But let’s take a deeper look. Was Hextall really as bad as he seemed? Was this the right move for the pens?
