Dupuis will miss Penguins season opener

Penguins right winger Pascal Dupuis will miss the Penguins' season opening game Thursday in Dallas due to an undisclosed injury.

Dupuis sustained the injury during a three-on-three drill at practice Sunday at Consol Energy Center and skipped practice at the team's practice facility this morning in Cranberry. Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford said the injury is not related to the blood clot in his lung which sidelined him for most of the 2014-15 season.

Rutherford said by phone he did not have a timetable for how long Dupuis will be sidelined but confirmed Dupuis will definitely not play Thursday.
