After the Penguins’ win against the Islanders Saturday night, Derick Brassard received the team’s coveted postgame Steelers helmet — given after each victory to the team’s player of the game — for the first time in his Pittsburgh career.
Brassard said he’s a football fan but, as a Quebec native, doesn’t really have an NFL team.
Steelers fans will probably try to put the sell on him when fall rolls around, but for now, they’ll just be happy with him scoring big goals for the local hockey team.
Brassard netted his first goal as a Penguin in the third period of their 3-2 overtime win Saturday.
