Sidney Crosby is on just about every short list of the world’s finest hockey players.
Right at the top of many, for that matter.
But does that mean he was an All-Star during the first three months of the 2017-18 season?
That depends on what one believes an All-Star should be.
There’s no questioning Crosby’s credentials as an elite talent. It’s tough to argue with a matching set of Conn Smythe trophies as Most Valuable Player in the playoffs, two scoring titles and a pair of Hart trophies as regular-season MVP, among numerous other individual achievements.
