DANIEL SPRONG ASSIGNED TO WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced forward Daniel Sprong has been assigned by the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL) to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from his junior club, the Charlottetown Islanders (QMJHL).

The first Dutch native drafted by an NHL club when Pittsburgh took him 46th overall in the 2015 draft, Sprong appeared in 18 games with Pittsburgh earlier in the season as an 18-year-old, tallying two goals.

Sprong, now 19, earned 16 goals and 30 assists for 46 points in 33 games with Charlottetown this season. He also added 15 points (4G-11A) in 12 Queu0301bec Major Junior Hockey League playoff games this year.
