Crosby's heir apparent hits PPG Paints Arena ice

Mike Sullivan isn’t here to craft a story line.

So as much as the hockey world might be looking forward to seeing Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid go head-to-head as often as possible tonight, Sullivan has a hockey game to win.

“I don’t really think too much about drama,” Sullivan said Monday after the Penguins practice.

Still, it will be pretty hard to avoid.

Crosby and McDavid, both former No. 1 overall picks, will face off for the first time tonight as the Penguins play host to the Oilers at PPG Paints Arena. Many have pegged McDavid, 19, as the heir apparent to Crosby, as both the face of the NHL and best player in the game.
