Crosby won't be a secret weapon tonight, after all

It’s pretty clear that, barring something catastrophic, Penguins center Sidney Crosby will become the 85th player in NHL history to record 1,000 points in his career.

He has 997 already, so it’s entirely possible he will reach that milestone when the Penguins face Calgary tonight at 7:08 at PPG Paints Arena.

If he does, it won’t be because the Flames weren’t aware of what he is capable of.

“He’s a pretty special player,” Flames defenseman Mark Giordano said after his team’s game-day skate. “He’s been the best player in the game for a pretty long time now.
