TORONTO — Sidney Crosby didn’t watch Paul Henderson score his epic goal — easily the most fabled in Canada’s rich hockey history — in 1972, but he has a pretty good excuse.
After all, his grandparents probably hadn’t begun dating much before that watershed moment at Moscow’s Luzhniki Ice Palace.
But Crosby’s passion for the game extends to its legends and lore, so he knows all about Henderson’s goal.
Not that there’s any way he could have avoided it.
“Everybody who has played the game has seen the highlights of what happened,” Canada winger Corey Perry said Friday.
