Crosby earns NHL's top star for his past week's performances

Penguins center Sidney Crosby has been named the NHL's first star of the week that ended Sunday, while Upper St. Clair native Vincent Trocheck was honored as its No. 3 star.

Crosby had five goals and eight assists in three games to stretch his scoring streak to 10 entering the Penguins' game against Anaheim tonight at 7:08 at Consol Energy Center.

Trocheck had three goals and three assists in three games for Florida.

Ottawa defenseman Erik Karlsson was the No. 2 star of the week after putting up seven assists in three games.
