Behind every great man …
In Mike Sullivan’s case, yes, there’s a great woman. He called his wife, Kate, “my best friend and my confidant” in an interview in December with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Jason Mackey.
But there’s also a great coaching staff behind Sullivan -- Rick Tocchet, Jacques Martin, Mike Bales and Sergei Gonchar. Sullivan never hesitates to talk up his assistants and gives them much credit for the Penguins’ extraordinary success since he took over from fired Mike Johnston in December 2015.
“First and foremost, we all sincerely get along. We like each other,” Sullivan said last week.
