Penguins winger Carl Hagelin has been diagnosed with a concussion, coach Mike Sullivan announced Monday.
Hagelin left in the first period of the Penguins’ 4-1 win against St. Louis Sunday after taking a hit to the head from Blues center Alexander Steen. He did not return to the game.
Hagelin did not practice with the Penguins Monday, but Sullivan said he skated on his own before the team session.
“We’ll see how he responds from there and we’ll go from there,” Sullivan said.
Hagelin has six goals and 19 points in 51 games this season.
