Bryan Rust out 'longer-term' as injury bug continues to bite the Penguins

The Penguins got what they hope could be a season-turning win Wednesday night against Columbus.

It may have come at a cost.

Winger Bryan Rust, defenseman Chad Ruhwedel and goalie Matt Murray all missed practice Thursday, and coach Mike Sullivan confirmed all three would miss at least a game due to injury.

Rust will be out “longer-term,” Sullivan said — usually an indication that the timetable is months, not weeks — with an upper-body injury. Ruhwedel is “week-to-week” with an upper-body injury, and Murray is “day-to-day” with an upper-body injury, though Sullivan said Murray will not play Friday against Carolina.
