Bill Guerin has been named the general manager of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, assuming the duties formerly held by Jason Botterill.
Botterill is now the GM in Buffalo. Guerin will spend time in Pittsburgh, too, but a big chunk of his job responsibilities will be handling the day-to-day operations of the Penguins' American Hockey League affiliate.
Guerin will also be an alternate governor with the team.
General manager Jim Rutherford said on Thursday that Jason Karmanos will shift from vice president of hockey operations to assistant general manager, and Mark Recchi will take on the title of director of player development.
