NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has made it clear that he is intent on completing the 2019-20 season, which has been suspended since March 12 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
He told a virtual town hall conducted by the San Jose Sharks for members of the team's business alliance Tuesday that not awarding the Stanley Cup this year is “not something I’m even contemplating.”
Bettman's comments to the group were reported by the San Jose Mercury News.
“I believe that if the right time comes, and the right circumstances, based on all of the options that we’re considering and our ability to execute them, we’ll get this season done,” he said.
