Back-to-back a no-go, but Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang relish All-Star Game experience anyway

TAMPA, Fla. — If Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang had to pick one scenario to miss on going back-to-back, here’s betting it was this and not winning consecutive Stanley Cup titles.

Despite goals from Crosby and Letang, the Metropolitan Division failed to defend its three-on-three title, falling to the Atlantic Division, 7-4, in the NHL All-Star Game Sunday at the Lightning’s Amalie Arena. The Pacific Division, backstopped by Marc-Andre Fleury, later defeated the Atlantic to win it all.

Here’s a quick-hit way of looking at this whole thing:

The highlight: Easy one here. Had to be Tampa Bay’s Nikita Kucherov, in the second of two 10-minute periods, completing his hat trick in front of the hometown crowd with a sneaky move — where he dekes and the goaltender (hopefully) loses track of the puck.
