BUFFALO, N.Y. – Zach Aston-Reese’s fight with New Jersey defenseman Steven Santini Saturday may have surprised some who were watching or following the Penguins’ performance at the Prospects Challenge.
Not coach Clark Donatelli.
Donatelli's did-he-really-just-do-that moment when it comes to Aston-Reese’s fighting ability came last year, in the American Hockey League, with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
“He surprised me last year when he fought,” Donatelli said. “He fought one time. It was a really good fight. He one-punched someone. In junior he fought quite a bit. He’s a pretty tough kid. He’s not afraid of it.”
Certainly not.
