The Penguins demoted one young winger with a lethal shot when they returned Daniel Sprong to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Monday.
They still have another left.
And he seems to be getting more and more comfortable with each day.
Dominik Simon scored two goals in the Penguins’ 6-3 victory against the Minnesota Wild Thursday at PPG Paints Arena, giving him four in the past six games.
Since Simon was called up New Year’s Day, he predominantly has played to the left of Sidney Crosby, a role he has grown into quite nicely.
“When we first put him with Sid, there was a tendency to force plays to him when maybe they weren’t there,” Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said.
