LAS VEGAS — Sidney Crosby has never been better or more open with his teammates.
Those were the words of Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock, who three times has coached Crosby in international competition, when discussing Crosby’s MVP performance in the World Cup of Hockey last September.
Speaking at media day before the NHL Awards inside a ballroom at the the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, Babcock said Crosby’s “determination level was elite” in winning a second consecutive Stanley Cup, another Conn Smythe Trophy and delivering the second-best goal-scoring season of his career, all while shaking off two concussions.
