It was just a preseason game, with no points in the standings or playoff implications on the line.
That didn’t stop the butterflies from starting up in Adam Johnson’s when he put on his Penguins’ jersey and took the PPG Paints Arena ice Wednesday night for the Penguins’ preseason game against Detroit.
“Still kind of a dream come true, playing for the Penguins, obviously,” Johnson said. “A little nervous at the beginning, but I kind of settled in. I thought I played well after the nerves got out.”
Johnson’s right, he did play pretty well over the course of the night, scoring two goals in the Penguins’ 6-5 overtime win.
