Sidney Crosby will never forget those video sessions alongside good friends Evgeni Malkin and Jordan Staal.
The man who organized them, Michel Therrien, still marvels at Crosby’s focus back then — almost freakish for someone in his late teens, especially when it comes to a subject such as defense.
“He was willing to learn,” Therrien recalled over the weekend. “That’s what was the most impressive thing for me: to coach a player like that who wanted to learn and do everything that he can to become the best player in the NHL.”
That insatiable appetite for hockey — and constantly working to improve parts of his game — has never left Crosby.
