Ryan Winslow will use NFL combine performance to raise money for charity

Former Pitt punter Ryan Winslow is heading to Indianapolis to take part in the NFL Scouting Combine this week, but in addition to showing scouts what he can do on the field, he’ll be lending a helping hand to Uplifting Athletes, a group that raises money to fight rare diseases.

Uplifting Athletes runs an annual campaign called “Reps for Rare Diseases,” the goal of which is to use player performances at the NFL combine to raise money for potentially life-saving research into rare diseases. The most common method is for donors to pledge a certain amount for each time a player bench-presses 225 pounds.
